Introduction

ASI has added a new iPod Touch application to enhance its already powerful POS offerings. The Write-On for iPod Touch application is similar in many aspects to its Window’s counterpart. The Write-On for iPod Touch interface still takes advantage to ASI’s unique Write-On data entry method. In fact, ASI’s Write-On interface becomes more user friendly when used on an iPod device. The new ASI Write-On for iPod Touch application takes advantage of iPod Touch’s easy to use touchscreen. From the start you will notice the buttons and the text are larger. This results in a reduced number of data entry mistakes. Another benefit to the iPod‘s larger buttons and text is the end user can easily enter data without the use of a stylus. The real difference to a Window’s mobile device and the IPod Touch is the hardware. Because of the iPod’s popularity and greater availability, the cost of using the new Write-On for iPod Touch application is greatly reduced when compared to a Windows Mobile device.

Because the ASI Write-On for iPod Touch works in conjunction with the Restaurant Manager POS System, the basic menu setup and system configuration must be done in the Restaurant Manager POS BackOffice Module.  This document describes how to configure only those features that have a specific impact on the functionality of the ASI Write-On for iPod Touch.  This document assumes the user possesses the basic Restaurant Manager programming and data entry skills (i.e. menu programming). Please consult the Restaurant Manager User Manual for additional programming instructions if necessary.
