Report Types

The Restaurant Manager has three basic report types:

Hard coded Reports

Restaurant Manager’s legacy reports are included in the RMREPORTS module.  They are identified in the reports tree by the symbol. These reports are “hard coded” and cannot be modified in any way.   Additionally, hard coded reports cannot be exported to delimited files.

ASI Report Type (.arf)

ASI has developed a new report definition protocol (similar to Crystal Reports) that allows it to create new reports and integrate them into tree view without having to recompile the reports module.  These types of reports offer additional flexibility in the selection of columns to print and export capabilities.  Additionally, the modified report titles will appear as subtitles in the printed reports.  The full definition, including the report’s logic, column and formatting information is contained in files of type .arf (ASI Report Format).  These reports are identified by the symbol.

Crystal Report Type (.rpt)

The ASI reports module allows you to easily add reports created with Crystal Reports to the tree view.  These reports can be freely mixed with other reports in your report groups. Please note due to Crystal Reports no longer supporting the crpe32.dll for a report engine, RMReports only works with Crystal Reports versions prior and equal VIII.
