Hardware Setup

At this point you will need your hardware connected to your networks. Below is a list of recommended hardware.

Tablet

Duet is compatible with all iPad models capable of supporting iOS9 and higher. 16 GB storage minimum is preferred. Below is a list of suggested iPad models:

• Apple iPad Mini-2, Mini-4: Mini 7.9" Often used in mobile environments.
• Apple iPad Pro or Air2, 16, 32, or greater: iPad Pro 9.7" or Air2 9.7"
• Apple iPad Pro: iPad Pro 12.9" Best For bar stations, or where a bigger screen needed.

Printers

Duet supports a variety of output devices for Prep Output (Kitchen, Bar, Expo, etc) and Guest Checks and Credit Card Receipts.

Kitchen / Bar Prep Printer

For Prep Output you can use Epson-compatible IP/Ethernet printers. Currently Duet has been tested with Epson (the full range of Epson Impact and Thermal POS Printers), Citizen, SNBC (280 and 300 impact) and Bixolon.

• Epson U220B Impact Printer: Epson Impact Printer Wired or WiFi recommended

Receipt Printers

Duet supports most Epson-compatible (support Epson Emulation) IP/Ethernet printers, including Epson Thermal and Impact (TM Series: 88, 90, 70, 20, 220); SNBC 180, 300; and Bixolon.

• Epson TM-30 Thermal Printer: Epson Thermal Receipt Printer (Ethernet, or Wireless) recommended
• Epson TM-U20: Epson Thermal Receipt Printer Wired or WiFi recommended.

KDS

Duet is compatible with the following KDS: Epson KDS (based on the intelligent series printer); MicroPlus mPad; and ChefTab by Select Electronics.

Cash Drawers

Duet can drive any cash drawer compatible with the Epson printer drawer kick interface.

WiFi

The two routers below are recommended:

• Meraki z1: 4 Port Cisco Meraki z1 Cloud-Managed Router 3G/4G Failover (Subscription Required)
